About the Role:

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Disability Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, enthusiasm, and initiative to support our client in achieving their personal goals, including health, independence, and happiness.

This role involves providing active support in the community and at the gym, assisting with workouts, and encouraging our client to build healthy lifestyle habits. You will also be a positive role model, offering respectful and transparent support in line with their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the client during community activities and gym sessions.
  • Assist and encourage the client with exercise routines, promoting healthy and active living.
  • Support the client in developing independence, confidence, and life skills.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with the client and their family.
  • Ensure transparency and professionalism in all aspects of support.
  • Maintain accurate shift notes and follow organisational policies.

Requirements:

  • Energetic, proactive, and full of creative ideas to engage the client in meaningful activities.
  • Confident in attending and assisting with gym workouts.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on respect and transparency.
  • Reliability and commitment to the client's routine and goals.
  • Must be available:
  • Tuesdays: Afternoons
  • Fortnightly Saturdays & Sundays (alternating weekends)
  • Previous experience in disability support, personal training, or community services is desirable but not essential.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $43.23 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 18 per week
