We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled System Administrator to join our IT team.

Key responsibilities:

System Administration

  • Manage, configure, and monitor Windows and Linux servers
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of critical IT systems

Cloud & Virtualisation

  • Support a hybrid cloud architecture with Azure and on-premises networks
  • Maintain Hyper-V environments

Networking & Security

  • Manage firewalls, switches, and VPN configurations (Cisco / Meraki)
  • Assist our MSSP with cyber incident response
  • Support identity and access management across Entra ID and Active Directory

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide Tier 2 general IT support to end-users
  • Resolve escalated issues related to applications, networks, and systems
  • Provision laptops and other devices (Intune, Patch my PC)

Documentation & Process

  • Maintain accurate system documentation
  • Contribute to IT policies, standards, and procedures

Core skills and competencies:

  • Hands on technical expertise
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and Azure
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell or Python)
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam) would be an advantage

Qualifications and experience we are looking for:

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a system administrator or equivalent
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Azure services
  • Experience with patch management and security hardening
  • Experience in device provisioning and management would be highly advantageous
  • Exposure to security frameworks such as Essential Eight or NIST CSF is desirable
  • Azure Administrator and/or Cisco certifications will be highly regarded
  • Possess a current Defence security clearance or be willing to obtain and maintain a Baseline or NV1 clearance

The role may require to occasionally deal with "after hours" network issues that could arise from time to time.
