We're looking for a Senior Producer, Creative to lead and inspire a dynamic team of producers, delivering ambitious artistic programming that reflects our values and vision.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Creative Program Lead and delivering on their aspiration for multi-genre arts events across the Precinct, as Senior Producer you'll play a key role in shaping HOTA's programming to ensure it aligns with our Arts and Culture Strategic Plan. You'll also be instrumental in developing HOTA's owned festivals and signature events, while managing day-to-day operations, partnerships, and production workflows with precision and flair.

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Content Delivery

  • Curate and present engaging artistic content that drives audience attendance and aligns with HOTA's strategic objectives.

  • Leverage industry networks to secure high-quality artists, collaborators, and productions.

  • Foster and manage partnerships and co-productions that enhance programming diversity and reach.

Audience & Data-Driven Strategy

  • Analyse audience data, sales trends, and demographics to inform programming decisions.

  • Develop and implement strategies that grow and diversify local, national, and international audiences.

Financial & Revenue Management

  • Manage program budgets and financial reporting to ensure cost-effective delivery.

  • Collaborate across departments to optimise revenue from public programs, ticketing, and hospitality.

Project & Event Management

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of events, ensuring they are executed on time, within scope, and to a high standard.

  • Coordinate artist scheduling, logistics, technical requirements, and production documentation.

  • Support the producing team to maintain quality control across all creative outputs.

Contracts, Compliance & Negotiations

  • Negotiate and manage contracts for artists, promoters, and partners.

  • Ensure all agreements and project execution comply with organisational policies and industry regulations.

Reporting & Operational Oversight

  • Prepare and contribute to KPI reporting, financial updates, board papers, and acquittals.

  • Maintain accurate and timely operational records across all programming activities.

Team Leadership & Industry Engagement

  • Mentor and guide the producing team to foster professional growth and high-performance standards.

  • Represent HOTA at key meetings, industry forums, and marketplaces.

  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive and effective program delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of the arts, entertainment, and cultural landscape, including performance requirements, artist liaison, ticketing and marketing processes, scheduling, and industry best practices.

  • Experience in contract compilation and management, ensuring clarity around deliverables, key outcomes, and compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive partnerships with artists, arts organisations, community stakeholders, and industry collaborators to deliver impactful programming.

  • Exceptional project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously, meet deadlines, and align resources across teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong administrative and digital literacy, including proficiency in standard office software and the ability to interpret data for reporting and planning.
