About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior/Senior Sous Chef to join our team at Bread In Common in Fremantle, Western Australia. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef to contribute to the ongoing success of our popular restaurant.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen
  • Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to our menu specifications
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient work environment
  • Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met
  • Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff
  • Collaborating with the team to develop new menu items and improve existing ones
  • Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed

What we're looking for

  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
  • A passion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage and mentor kitchen staff
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding food safety and hygiene standards
  • Qualifications in Hospitality, Culinary Arts or a related field are highly desirable
