About the role

This is a full-time Assistant Accountant position based in West Swan, WA. As part of the talented team at The Margaret River Chocolate Company Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for providing essential accounting support to ensure the smooth running of the company's financial operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting month-end processes including journal entries and reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Carry out general bookkeeping and data entry duties
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounts
  • Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis, reports, and administrative accounting tasks
  • Support the preparation and lodgment of BAS and PAYG

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor degree minimum qualification is required
  • 1-2 years of experience in an assistant accountant or bookkeeping role
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Proficiency in MYOB accounting software is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development - CPA studies
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required
