About the Role

SSH Group, an ASX-listed company, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team, supporting it's Labour Hire and Mining divisions. This full-time permanent position is based at our Belmont office in Perth, WA, reporting to the Group Financial Controller.

What We're Looking For

  • Formal accounting qualifications (CA/CPA or working towards advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role with end-to-end processing and month-end reporting
  • Strong understanding of statutory obligations – ATO, OSR, payroll tax, BAS
  • High attention to detail with reconciliations and balance sheet management
  • Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience in labour hire, workforce, or mining industries desirable
  • Full Australian working rights

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial reporting
  • Manage daily transactions: accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations
  • Oversee cash flow management, payments, and statutory compliance
  • Assist with month-end close, journals, accruals, and reporting
  • Provide financial support to operational teams across workforce and mining projects
  • Track and report on project costs within SSH Mining, ensuring budget accuracy
  • Support audits, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous process improvements
  • Handle ad hoc accounting and finance administration tasks
