Bank of China is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Clearing Officerto join our Operations Department in Sydney.

This is a One - Year Maximum Term Contract as Clearing Officer in our Operations Department.

You are mainly responsible for respective payment and clearance transactions, make enquiry and investigation toward payments.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Transactions processing

  • Process inward and outward payments and clearing transactions
  • Monitor and manage the VOSTRO accounts' position and payment flows
  • Provide clearing data to treasury functions for managing NOSTRO accounts' liquidity
  • Make transactions entries as appropriate
  • Make enquiry and investigations toward inward/outward payments
  • Respond to local and offshore banks' payment enquiries and investigations
  • Process  Direct Entry transactions and cheques clearing

Transaction reporting

  • Prepare periodical regulatory or managerial reports
  • Reconcile transactions and investigate discrepancy

Clerical working

  • Prepare transactions documentations as appropriate
  • Maintain filing and deal with all sorts of communications via email, fax, or telephone

Candidates should essentially have:

  • More than 1 year related industry's working experience
  • Tertiary degree or above, preferably in Finance/Accounting/Business or related disciplines
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience toward remittance and clearance operations, the use of internal payment messaging services (SWIFT) and local payment system
  • Good computer literacy skills including MS Office
  • Sound written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese.
