Seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Media Advisor to lead and support strategic media communications for a large complex NSW Government organisation. This role involves developing media responses, advising senior leaders, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, including the Minister's office.

The position offers a hybrid working model with three days on-site and participation in a rotating on-call media roster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop media responses, statements, alerts, and strategies in collaboration with internal teams
  • Provide expert media advice to senior leaders and Ministers
  • Scan the socio-political environment to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call media roster (once every 3 weeks, including weekends).
  • Support emergency communications

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in media, communications, or public affairs.
  • Strong writing, messaging, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across locations and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Government experience is ideal but not essential
