Financial Controller

Continued growth and internal promotion have led to the requirement for a dynamic FC to join this circa $100m, CBD based energy industry group. You will be empowered to ensure the CFO and the leadership team have confidence in the financial results and recommendations to drive the business forward.
This opportunity presents as the group builds up for an exciting growth phase. Reporting to the CFO as part of a talented local team, this hands-on role will see you lead a small yet capable team.
Key tasks shall include:
- Production of core financial reports for the ELT and Board
- Variance analysis and recommendations for process improvements
- Business partnering with internal teams
- Ensuring compliance and statutory submissions are first-class
- Leading the budget and forecast function
- Driving the implementation of Dynamics (project in progress)
- Assessing current reports and identifying improvements
- Ad-hoc projects that will arise, or that you identify that need attention (including integrating acquisitions)
A key focus will be to maintain a constant business process improvement approach, driven by understanding current operations, best practices, and automation opportunities that support growth. This may take the form of team feedback and suggestions, variance analysis, refining and exploring data management opportunities, and ensuring standing reports and ad-hoc reports are first-class.
Your experience would likely come from a fluid, growth-focused service environment where you have proven your ability to help a business run successfully. This could include a Senior Manager role in a CA firm where you have been embedded with your clients. Your inquisitive nature will be supported by very strong technical accounting knowledge and team leadership and development (and your CA/CPA)
With new offices located near a CBD station, a hybrid work environment with a minimum of three days in the office will be available once you are up to speed.
Remuneration shall reflect your experience, with a circa $200k package a guide.
