Join this leading Australian professional services firm based in Melbourne's CBD, known nationally for its innovative, commercially focused approach. We are seeking a technically strong Financial Controller to lead the finance function and support the firm's continued growth.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee all financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, payroll, working capital management and process improvement. You'll lead a team of six and play a key role in providing strategic insights to partners and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance team
  • Deliver accurate monthly financials, forecasting and performance analysis
  • Oversee financial accounting, statutory and tax compliance, and payroll
  • Drive process improvement, automation and system optimisation
  • Manage banking, audit, insurer and technology provider relationships
  • Lead working capital and cashflow management
  • Provide high-quality reporting and insights to support decision-making

About You

  • CA/CPA qualified with 10+ years' finance experience, professional services experience is ideal
  • Proven leadership capability with strong technical accounting expertise, ideally honed in a Big 4 environment
  • Experience in compliance requirements relating to partnerships and trust structures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable driving change
