We are now seeking a results-driven and commercially savvy Financial Controller to lead financial operations across our Victorian manufacturing businesses, reporting directly to the Director of Business – Victoria.

This is a key senior financial leadership position responsible for driving financial operations, strategy, oversight, and performance across our Victorian steel manufacturing businesses.
As Financial Controller, you will work closely with Senior executives and departmental leaders to ensure commercial success, cost control, reporting accuracy, and financial governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial functions across Victorian operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, audit, tax, and cost control
- Own full P&L and balance sheet accountability, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all internal and external financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
- Prepare and present detailed management reports, including variance analysis, KPIs, forecasts, cash flow trends, and strategic insights
- Drive cost efficiency, margin improvement, and pricing strategies to support profitability targets
- Establish and oversee robust reporting structures across manufacturing, production, and sales, delivering clear data to guide business performance
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, accounting standards, and internal control frameworks
- Partner with senior leadership and site managers to interpret financial results and support strategic decision-making
- Manage FP&A, capital expenditure planning, and financial modelling to support growth and investment
- Oversee finance operations, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, and cash flow
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions to ensure sound financial governance
- Continuously improve reporting systems, dashboards, and processes for accuracy and efficiency
- Support business case development and financial planning alongside other senior executives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the small finance team, building a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration
- Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualified (required)
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior financial management role preferably within manufacturing, steel, building, or construction.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, manufacturing performance metrics, and inventory control.
- Hands-on experience in managing P&L, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations, production, sales, and executive teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
- Highly proficient with ERP systems and financial software
- A strategic thinker who can also be hands-on.
