Want to experience the magic of scaling a fast-growing business, whilst making a huge positive impact on the world? Join one of Australia's most successful purpose-led start-ups
Why join the Skipper team?
At Skipper, our mission is to make zero-waste easy and accessible to all; and to turn everyday habits into a force for good.
How? Through our innovative products that eliminate plastic waste and reduce emissions from everyday items we consume at home.
Our suite of "just-add-water" products have taken the Australian and North American markets by storm. Since launching our first product, a zero-waste hand soap in Jan 2021, we achieved multi-million dollar revenues and profitability within 18 months. We've since hit 8-figure revenues, raised capital from a world-class venture fund, and collected over 100 tonnes of plastic waste. Today, we are actively preventing thousands of plastic bottles from being purchased every single day.
In short, we're a fast-growing business making a serious splash
In 2024, we did the unthinkable. We changed everything. We rebranded our business from Tirtyl to Skipper, and changed the look and feel of all of our products. Despite our success as Tirtyl, we made these changes to unlock new possibilities in the pursuit to build a truly world-class brand.
Now equipped with stronger brand foundations and better-than-ever products, we're looking to unlock the next stage of audacious growth. To achieve our goals, we need the most ambitious talent. That's where you come in…
About the role
If you love finding the sweet spot between big ideas and smart strategy, this one's for you. We're looking for a creatively-led Marketing Coordinator to help us unlock our next phase of growth
This is a high-impact role for someone who gets energy from launching new things and concepts to the world. You'll support and coordinate growth initiatives across campaigns, partnerships, product drops and new brand ventures- the kind that bring in fresh audiences and take Skipper to new places.
You'll work closely with the Marketing Lead, E-Commerce Manager, our (new) Content Specialist and Marketing Associates to bring ideas to life. If you're someone who likes experimenting with ideas, thinking strategically and helping build a brand people love, you'll feel right at home here.
If that sounds exciting to you, read on.
What you'll be doing
- Support the rollout of new growth ideas
- Help coordinate campaigns for new product drops, partnerships and creative growth experiments
- Work with the team to bring big ideas to life across social, paid, creator and wholesale channels
- Keep plans moving by supporting timelines, tasks and collaboration across the team
- Contribute to campaign content
- Create content that supports growth initiatives: think TikTok, emails, social posts and digital assets
- Write light-touch copy and support with visuals, asset sourcing and briefing where needed
- Work closely with our Content Specialist to support creative execution across platforms
- Assist with partnerships and collaborations
- Support outreach to creators and aligned brands for giveaways, collabs and co-marketing campaigns
- Help coordinate logistics and communication before, during and after live campaigns
- Keep things organised with contact lists, trackers and follow-ups
- Jump in where needed to help the team stay agile and responsive
- Track campaign performance and help capture learnings so we can keep improving
You'll thrive here if you
- Love connecting with people and bringing ideas to life, whether it's a new partnership, campaign or piece of content (and everything between)
- Think creatively and have a sharp eye for detail, you care about the craft
- Have experience in content, social or digital marketing, ideally in a fast-paced or e-commerce environment
- Are confident on the tools (like Klaviyo, Canva and scheduling platforms) or keen to learn
- Are comfortable in-front and behind a camera
- Use data to guide your thinking and make things better each time (or willing to learn)
- Can juggle a few projects without losing focus
- Enjoy storytelling and making people feel something
- Bring a collaborative, low-ego attitude and want to be part of a purpose-led team
- Are proactive, resourceful and not afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Embrace positivity through the good times and the tough ones
- Are confident and driven but also humble and a great learner and listener
- Know when to take your foot off the pedal, relax and have fun too- work is important, but so is life. We want someone we can enjoy the journey with
Perks of the role, if helping us eliminate plastic waste wasn't enough already
- Competitive package remuneration (which is rare for a purpose-led start-up)
- Access to workshops, courses and conferences to grow your expertise and network
- Flexible working hours
- Enjoy our remote working program encouraging 4 weeks per year of travel while getting paid and working full-time (this is in addition to 4 weeks annual leave)
- Enjoy our dress code: "comfortable"
- All-team paid-for lunches every Friday and the occasional celebratory drinks
- You get to influence the culture and work environment as we build the company together
- Work, learn and grow with our Founders who bring experience from successful start-ups, high-growth companies and global consultancies
- Conveniently located HQ with free on-site parking
