Geebung RSL is seeking to grow our existing kitchen team with an opportunity for a full-time chef to join the team. Geebung RSL has a strong focus on its catering operations with a 180 seat a la carte bistro; 150 seat a la carte restaurant; 2 x cafes and a very busy function & events offering.

Geebung RSL is in Brisbane's inner north. With over 21,000 members, over 75 employees, plenty of free parking, Geebung RSL strives to be the Local Friendly Club. We are conveniently located 100m from Geebung train station and bus stops.

The role is permanent, and requires day, evening and weekend shifts. The chef position is supported by the Head Chef, Functions Manager & Catering Supervisors.

We are looking for a full-time chef who brings:

· Experience in busy kitchens across all stations.

· Positive attitude and team focused.

· Attention to detail and quality control.

· Strong work ethic and reliable.

· Strong & positive communication skills.

As a Chef, your role will involve:

· Setting up the kitchen with utensils, equipment and food supplies prior to the start of the shift.

· Supervise the preparation & presentation of meals as per orders.

· Modify meals to meet specific dietary requirements.

· Run kitchen service at a high level of quality and consistency.

· Liaise with head chef and sous chef to plan menus keeping in mind the budget and availability of seasonal ingredients.

· Stocktake and order supplies in a timely manner.

· Supervise and coordinate the work of juniors in the kitchen.

· Always ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations.

We expect the following from you:

· Commercial cookery certification.

· At least one year work experience in a similar role.

· Ability to work a flexible roster.

· Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.

· Exceptional presentation, interpersonal & time management skills.

· Food safety supervisor certification.

· Work rights in Australia.
