We're looking for a Casual Chef / Prep Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver high-quality dishes across our Restaurant, Café, and private functions during the busy summer season. Bring your passion for food, energy, and teamwork to a hands-on, fast-paced kitchen environment.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for your section during shifts, ensuring dishes are prepared to the Club's high standards. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where no two days are the same.

Roster: Casual, as-and-when needed during the summer season, including weekends and peak periods.

Physical tasks: Some lifting and kitchen movement involved.

Autonomy: Ability to work independently, manage your section, and support the team wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Rotate across Restaurant, Café, and private functions as required.
  • Support smooth kitchen operations and collaborate with the team.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and skill development in the kitchen.
  • Solve problems efficiently in a busy, high-pressure environment.
  • Assist colleagues wherever needed to ensure great service.

About You

  • Minimum 1 -2 years experience in a similar culinary role.
  • Passionate about creating quality cuisine and taking pride in your work.
  • Skilled across a range of cooking disciplines.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety systems
  • Calm, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Reliable, punctual, and happy to work across different kitchen areas.
  • Able to work independently while supporting the team.

Must-Haves

  • Minimum 1-2 years proven kitchen experience in a similar role.
  • Current food safety knowledge and experience with relevant systems.
  • Availability for a casual, as-and-when needed roster over the summer season.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for food, learning, and developing your culinary craft.
