As we continue to grow, so too does our team. We are looking for the right candidate to take on the role of Project Manager . This is a Full-Time role, based in our Port Macquarie Shipyard on the beautiful Hastings River in Port Macquarie, NSW.
Position Overview
The Project Manager support and deliver planning, project coordination, project data analysis, reporting and maintenance for key project performance indicators including cost, schedule, scope, risk and contract requirements..
Key Accountabilities :
- Support the Senior Project Manager in the safe and successful delivery of projects through prototype, design, production, test phases and acceptance within the constraints of quality, time, cost and performance
- Lead and for some roles, supervise project controls team members, across the breadth of project controls including administration, cost, schedule, risk and contract management
- Working with the Integrated Project Team Leads, coordinate, analyse and consolidate month end
- Reporting for project costs including appropriate cost code allocation, accruals as well as forecasting and cashflow management aligned with the project schedule.
- Working with the scheduler, coordinate, analyse and consolidate month end schedule reporting, including analysis of schedule performance and estimate to completion forecasting.
- Coordinate Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management for the Project, including reviews and reporting.
- Support the Senior Project Manager to ensure delivery of contractual commitments through strong stakeholder management that enhance the reputation of Birdon
- Be intimately familiar with contract requirements and deliverables, ensuring Mission System and Support System deliverables are met
Actively participate in the continued growth of the business
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Essential.
- At least 5 years' experience delivering high- value projects in the marine or defence industries
- At least 2 years' experience in high-value contract management for Defence or similar government clients
- Experience managing a team of people, including employees, subcontractors and suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project.
Ability to obtain and maintain at minimum a Baseline security clearance (Security clearance definitions | Australian Government Security Vetting Agency)
Desirable.
- Formal training in project management, and/or tertiary qualification in a relevant degree or business management/administration
- Familiarity with Defence Procurement Guidelines and Acquisition Contracting processes
- Formal training / demonstrable experience with team leadership and / or people management
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project.
Scheduling software, project analytics, cost control reporting and risk management software
