Project Manager - Indigenous Tourism Projects

MAYDAY Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a NSW Government Department to bring on board a Project Manager for Indigenous Tourism Projects.

The details:

Duration: Until June 2026

Start Date: Commencing mid-November (Can be flexible)

Day Rate:  $81.80ph - $90.14ph + SUPER

Location: Sydney CBD

Flexibility: Hybrid flexibility, 3 days in the office (Flexible options available)

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, full time hours (35 hour week)

The role

  • Lead the delivery of a suite of Indigenous tourism projects within NSW Government Department and in collaboration with other state Government agencies.
  • Plan and oversee project delivery, managing stakeholders, negotiating contracts, leading working groups, tracking progress and ensuring delivery of project tasks, briefings and documentation.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and deliverables with external partners to deliver projects, in accordance with legal and procurement policies.
  • Maintain up to date documentation in SharePoint and manage project tasks and statuses in
  • Track and report on all stakeholder engagement in Salesforce
  • Prepare and deliver project briefings to a range of stakeholders, including staff, leadership teams and Ministerial offices.

About you

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in Project Management specifically tourism focussed projects
  • NSW Government experience is also advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in Aboriginal cultural tourism development is advantageous.
  • Experience in engaging with Aboriginal stakeholders and groups in a visitor economy context is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management, ability to liaise and work with wider teams (e.g. marketing, procurement and events) and experience in working with third parties
  • Experience with or similar project management systems
