We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer to join our Accounting Practice. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely financial records in line with internal procedures and external compliance requirements. The successful candidate will be based on the Sunshine Coast and have the ability to follow established processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of tax returns
  • Up to date knowledge of taxation law
  • Reconciling client bank and credit card accounts
  • Processing invoices, expense claims and payroll entries
  • Producing financial reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Ensuring compliance with GST and other statutory obligations
  • Working with Accountants to ensure procedures are followed and refined as needed
  • Administration duties (incoming calls, appointment bookings, ATO communications, credit control)

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper / tax preparer
  • Good understanding of accounting software (Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage deadlines (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Strong communication skills
