About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our team at Zinc Gifts in Camberwell, VIC. This is a casual role, offering 2-3 days per week, with the possibility of increased hours during the holiday season. As a Sales Assistant, you will be an integral part of our vibrant and dynamic retail environment, providing first-rate customer service and contributing to the overall success of our store.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting each customer in a friendly and professional manner
  • Providing exceptional customer service by recognizing and understanding the customer's needs in order to recommend the most suitable products
  • Assisting with the display and merchandising of products
  • Handling cash and card transactions
  • Gift wrapping
  • Restocking and maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the store
  • Actively participating in store activities, promotions and events
  • Contributing to our positive and collaborative team environment

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is essential, preferably within the Retail/Consumer industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers
  • Openness to taking instructions and following through on set tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to self-motivate and work effectively, both independently as well as in a group
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility and energy to work 8hr weekdays, as well as some Saturdays.
  • Availability for additional shifts over the (Oct - Jan) holiday period, and open to fill-in occasionally if needed
  • A positive, friendly and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn
  • A passion for providing outstanding service to enhance the overall customer shopping experience
