Principal Procurement Manager

QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing strategic leadership in procurement, ensuring value-driven processes, and enhancing supplier and customer relationships.
Duties and skills involved:
- Manage continuous improvement initiatives to implement best practice procurement that optimizes value and minimizes inefficiencies in acquiring goods and services.
- Display strong contract and procurement management capability within a category portfolio, offering high-level advice to stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality deliverables, and high-performance standards, and provide procurement solutions for various programs.
- Interpret spend analysis to assess risk management strategies and identify opportunities in the construction industry.
- Develop and lead the implementation of the region's industry engagement strategy in collaboration with QBuild's Procurement Strategy team.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Proven ability to successfully manage effective procurement and category management processes and practices in a complex and diverse organisation.
Mandatory Requirement
- Possession of at least Queensland PCP Level 2 Intermediate Training from a recognised institution.
