About the role

Reporting to the Department Manager this full-time Project Manager role is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of HVAC&R projects for West Group in Sydney, NSW. You will be an integral part of the team, driving project schedules, budgets and stakeholder management to ensure high-quality outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing and implementing project plans, budgets and schedules to meet deadlines and financial targets
  • Coordinating and managing project teams, including contractors and subcontractors, to ensure effective collaboration and timely completion of tasks
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks, and implementing appropriate risk management strategies
  • Communicating progress and issues to stakeholders, including clients, project sponsors and internal teams
  • Ensuring projects comply with relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards
  • Preparing and presenting detailed project reports and documentation
  • Continuously looking for ways to improve project delivery and identify efficiencies

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate project teams to achieve successful outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in using project management software Simpro and Microsoft programs
  • Understanding of construction methodologies, cost control and risk management
