Role Specifics

  • Conduct comprehensive commercial reviews of bid documents, delivering proposed risk mitigation strategies aligned with our OBM process and Project Control Systems.
  • Contribute to the design and refinement of detailed commercial management plans.
  • Facilitate thorough commercial, contract, and risk handovers to project delivery teams, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer.
  • Develop and implement commercial and risk review schedules for assigned projects, actively leading all project review sessions within the business unit.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of contractual claims related to time and delay, ensuring accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
  • Provide strategic advice, support, and guidance to project delivery teams to enhance commercial outcomes.
  • Drive the development of a highly effective, skilled, and empowered commercial team alongside fostering a commercially astute project management group.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian civil construction industry and its commercial environment
  • Advanced financial, legal, and commercial expertise to inform strategic decision making
  • Substantial experience in contracts management, including the resolution of contract disputes
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder engagement at all levels
  • A high level of self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to operate autonomously within a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Law, Contract Law, Law, Project Management, or related fields
  • Demonstrated industry experience in Civil Construction, with particular emphasis on roading projects
