Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission – Appointment of Commissioners and Chief Commissioner
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are invited from persons wishing to be considered for appointment as a Commissioner of the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (the Commission), including a Chief Commissioner.
The Commission is established by Part 2 of the Greyhound Racing Act 2017 (the Act) as the independent regulator of the greyhound racing industry in NSW. It is established separate from the commercial arm of the industry (Greyhound Racing NSW).
The Commission's principal objectives include to promote and protect the welfare of greyhounds, safeguard the integrity of the industry and maintain public confidence in greyhound racing.
The Commissioners provide guidance on and oversee the review, establishment, implementation and enforcement of standards, rules, codes and policies. They also provide high level guidance and determinations on applications for registration as an industry participant and investigations into regulatory matters.
The Commissioners are also required to build and maintain constructive relationships and optimise outcomes by managing multiple stakeholders with diverse and competing interests, while assisting to build and protect the integrity of the Commission as a credible regulator.

Total Remuneration Package between $255,878 - $280,824 pro rata.

The Minister for Gaming and Racing, the Hon David Harris MP, has established an independent selection panel to oversee the process to identify suitable candidates.
The selection panel appointed to undertake the selection process will consider EOIs based on merit, taking into account a candidate's abilities, qualifications experience and personal attributes relevant to the performance of the duties of a Commissioner.
Competitive candidates will be required to complete a comprehensive probity assessment to be eligible for appointment.
