About the role:

This role is a Fixed-Term, Full-time position from 1 November 2024 to 30 June 2026.

The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end planning, design, and administration of a tender process for the conduct of the Victorian Population Health Survey (VPHS), a cornerstone of Victoria's population health surveillance system. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of a complex, multi-year survey program that informs public health planning, policy development, and reporting obligations under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.

The Project Manager will:

  • Oversee the development and management of procurement strategies, processes and contracts for survey conduct, ensuring alignment with departmental policies, risk management frameworks, and value-for-money principles.
  • Lead the design and implementation of project plans, governance structures, and stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure the survey meets its objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional virtual teams, including subject matter experts in analytics, public health, procurement and legal services to deliver project milestones and manage dependencies.
  • Provide authoritative advice to executive leadership, contribute to strategic planning, and represent the VPHS program in high-level forums and governance committees.

Mandatory

  • Experience in managing large procurement processes in government settings is essential.
  • Qualifications relating to health, public policy, project/program management would be highly regarded.
