Manager, Training and Accreditation

Working closely with the Executive Director, Education, Training and Development, and Unit Managers, the Manager is responsible for leading the effective delivery and continuous improvement of key components of the Fellowship Training Program. The role oversees the day-to-day operations of training delivery and training post accreditation, ensuring a high-quality, consistent and compliant experience for Candidates, Training Supervisors, Preceptors and other stakeholders. The Manager leads the Training and Accreditation team to deliver, monitor, review and evaluate training activities and processes, implement quality and operational improvements, and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and accreditation standards.
The Manager works collaboratively with RACMA Faculty, Committees and staff across the organisation to support the Candidate journey and the delivery of education and training activities. The role contributes strategically to the ongoing development, quality assurance and governance of the Fellowship Training Program, playing a key role in achieving organisational objectives related to program excellence, compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Training and Accreditation team, managing day-to-day operations including training post accreditation, the Candidate training journey, and associated education and support activities.
- Support team capability and performance through coaching, feedback and clear accountability to ensure ownership, quality delivery and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the effective delivery of unit functions, ensuring high-quality, consistent and compliant outcomes that align with RACMA policies, accreditation standards and organisational objectives.
- Develop, implement and maintain efficient and accurate processes and systems that ensure governance, compliance, quality assurance, risk management and continuous improvement across training and accreditation activities.
- Provide authoritative advice and subject matter expertise on training post accreditation and Fellowship Training Program delivery, including program design, operational implementation, evaluation and policy development.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Committees, Faculty, Leadership teams and College staff, to support program delivery, communication, and ongoing improvement of training and accreditation functions.
- Prepare and present clear documentation and reports, including policies, procedures, communications, discussion papers, evaluations and recommendations, to inform, advise, engage and communicate effectively with RACMA Committees, leadership, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to developing budgets and provide monitoring and reporting of approved budgets.
- Other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
- Proven ability to oversee and deliver training programs that align with organisational policy, accreditation standards and continuous quality improvement requirements, underpinned by a sound understanding of medical education and training frameworks and the regulatory environment governing specialist medical training.
- Strong understanding of training post accreditation standards, processes, compliance monitoring and quality assurance mechanisms that support safe, effective and supportive training environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams, managing day-to-day operations, building capability and fostering a collaborative, learner-centred and outcomes-focused culture.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and improving processes and workflows to ensure accuracy, compliance, effective risk management and timely delivery of training and accreditation functions in line with internal policies and external requirements.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present data, identify insights and trends, and prepare clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations that drive quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to engage, influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including Candidates, Training Supervisors, Preceptors, Committees and senior staff, to achieve shared outcomes, manage competing priorities and contribute strategically to broader program and organisational initiatives.
