The Opportunity

The Diesel Fitter is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining Council equipment such as loaders, dozers, graders, road rollers, backhoes and trucks along with providing workshop services across the region. The major focus of the role is to continuously improve operations.

About Yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Trade Certificate as a Deisel Fitter or Light Vehicle Mechanic, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:

• Workshop management experience
• Heavy Equipment Maintenance Workshop;
• An apprentice supervisory role (preferred);
• Contributing to the development and implementation of workshop procedures;
• Problem solving (root cause identification; process);
• Managing deadlines and prioritising work to ensure deadlines are met;
• Effective communication; and
• Ability to interpret vehicle manuals/update service schedules.

Salary Packaging Available

Leave Loading
