About the Role

CQ Diesel Fitting is looking for a highly skilled Diesel Fitter, HD Fitter, or HD Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Gladstone, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, excellent working conditions, and the opportunity to work with a well-established company in the automotive trades industry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, earthmoving machinery, light vehicles and other industrial vehicles.
  • Work on Transport Vehicles, Elevated work Platforms, Trucks, cranes, generators, and much more.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.
  • Providing on-site repairs and roadside assistance as needed.
  • Keeping accurate and detailed records of all work performed.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborating with the team to share knowledge and best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Formal qualifications in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Duty Mechanics, Heavy vehicle mechanics or a related trade.
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter, HD Fitter, or HD Mechanic.
  • Strong technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing a variety of diesel-powered equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • A commitment to safety and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to different job sites.
  • Availability for a 5-week rotating on-call roster.
