The DFV Senior Specialised Officer (Aboriginal) will provide holistic and culturally responsive support to Aboriginal people with a DFV matter going through the criminal justice system. The Officer will provide day-to-day support to clients including coordinating service provision, providing practical familial and social supports, and facilitating referrals to relevant services and programs. The Officer will work closely with local Aboriginal Client and Community Support Officers, community services and key stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with strong stakeholder relationship skills who is able to create strong and effective working relationships and referral networks with local services and key stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Work with Aboriginal clients (specifically, people who use violence, victims of violence and their families with a DFV matter going through the criminal justice system) by providing practical familial and social support to reduce reoffending behaviours which will include coordinating service provision and referral to relevant services.
- Undertake particular day-to-day aspects of project implementation, including monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, and managing deliverables and tasks.

What we're looking for
We need someone who can work well with Aboriginal families affected by DFV and help make projects successful by meeting deadlines and building strong connections. This role supports the healing and safety of Aboriginal communities, so a strong understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture is essential.
