Full-time | Permanent | $30–$35 p/h | Identified Position

HealthWISE is seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our team in the New England North West. This role offers flexibility in location and is available from any of our offices in Narrabri, Gunnedah, Tamworth, or Moree.

Working in partnership with GPs, practice staff, Aboriginal Health Services and allied health professionals, you will deliver multidisciplinary care, promote preventative health, and support chronic disease management within Aboriginal communities across the region.

About the Role

  • Deliver culturally appropriate clinical services within scope of practice
  • Assist Aboriginal people in accessing GPs, allied health, and specialist care
  • Provide preventative health education and chronic disease management
  • Promote HealthWISE programs and support community engagement
  • Advocate for clients and their families while maintaining confidentiality
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary HealthWISE team and community stakeholders

About You

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
  • Eligible for AHPRA registration
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal health issues
  • Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly, including occasional after-hours
