Support Worker – Sabatino's Support Care

We are currently seeking a reliable and understanding Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a 27-year-old male client who enjoys social outings, such as visiting the pub and evening trips into the city.

This role is best suited to someone with patience, resilience, and the ability to set firm but supportive boundaries. Our client has complex needs and requires a worker who can provide safe, consistent, and respectful support.

About the Client

The client lives with multiple challenges, including:

  • Emotional dysregulation leading to verbal and physical behaviors
  • Illicit substance use
  • Paranoid Schizophrenia
  • Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome
  • Moderate risk behaviors when accessing the community without support
  • Verbal aggression and risk-taking behaviors

Despite these challenges, he values genuine connection and prefers being supported by Australian-born workers who speak clear, fluent English.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide community access support (pub visits, city outings, and other activities)
  • De-escalate behaviors using calm, professional approaches
  • Support the client to engage safely and meaningfully in the community
  • Follow behavior support plans and risk management guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records and incident reporting
About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Australian-born with excellent English communication skills (as requested by the client)
  • Experienced in working with clients with complex behaviors and mental health challenges
  • Confident with de-escalation and behavior management strategies
  • Resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to client safety and dignity
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous experience in disability, mental health, or youth work preferred
  • Cert III/IV in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent (desirable)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle
