About ARTC
We're one of the country's largest rail network owners, proud to be keeping the future of transport on track.
A vital link in the nation's transport supply chain, every day our people manage the movement of over 430 freight and passenger trains across five states, 8,500km of track, 39 worksites and the lands of more than 50 First Nations. Rail isn't just a mode of transport, it's a safer and more environmentally friendly choice. We're committed to expanding and modernising our rail network, having invested billions of dollars to ensure its efficiency and sustainability. Join us and be part of a team that's shaping the future of transport in Australia.
About The Team
Our
Operations
team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About The Opportunity
Manage the delivery of the Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP) by leading a defined work activity or contract from procurement to execution, within scheduled timeframes and budgets, including financial and contractor management activities. Key focus will be the safe delivery of work (WHS & Rail Safety), without harm to the community or environment, to the expected quality standards within the project timeframes.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate ARTC's No Harm value by ensuring safety is considered in all aspects of project planning and delivery.
- When on site, conduct safe work interactions (SWIs), hazard reviews, documentation checks, and critical control monitoring checklists in partnership with the Principal Contractor.
- Contribute to investigations into all project-related incidents to enable root causes to be established and provide documented actions to prevent incident reoccurrences.
- Provide timely and detailed information to the Area Manager on project-related safety incidents/near-miss events to enable immediate action.
- Demonstrate ARTC's Active Engagement value by liaising with adjoining landowners and/or residents on any project matters that may impact them, when required.
- Work with contractors to minimise the project's impact on ARTC's operations and ensure that the work is completed in accordance with ARTC quality and safety procedures.
- Ensure the quality aspects of the job are completed according to ARTC standards and that relevant quality documentation is completed within agreed-upon timeframes.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of maintenance projects by conducting regular reviews of projects against indicators to resolve issues as they arise.
- Takes the lead in finance and standard contractual matters related to their specific activity/contract.
- Complete detailed project scoping and sequencing activities
- Monitor progress of works against the program schedule, advise on risks and delays to track handback.
