We are seeking a driven and proactive Financial Accountant (including Accounts Receivable) to join our ANZ Finance team. This role can be based in either Melbourne or Brisbane.

The Financial Accountant is responsible for providing quality financial accounting and accounts receivable for the Clark Products business, and accurate and timely monthly and financial reporting as well as accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting & Compliance

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements such as Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows for Australia and New Zealand

  • Support the preparation of consolidation report for the Group
  • End-to-end month end processing from journal posting to reporting
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation; maintain integrity of balance sheet accounts; resolve balance sheet discrepancies
  • Preparation of monthly cashflow forecast
  • Maintain Fixed Assets register and monthly depreciation
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts and foreign exchange revaluation
  • Ensure compliance with indirect tax requirements, including GST, FBT and WHT
  • Support external and internal audit processes
  • Drive efficiency improvements in financial processes
  • Preparation of budget

  • Undertake ad hoc financial reporting and projects.

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Review and process customer payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Customer collection according company policies and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve customer payment discrepancies
  • Customer account reconciliation
  • Customer masterdata maintenance
  • Support credit terms and credit limits review
  • Analytical accounts receivable reporting to support aging analysis, customer payment performance analysis, and credit terms analysis

  • Process improvement to streamline, standardise and simplify AR processes.

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Facilitate human resource policies and procedures

  • Adhere to and drive all OHS policies, programs and procedures as directed and implemented by the Company
  • Accept and complete other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Finance Director.

Position Requirements & Key Abilities

  • Accounting qualification with professional membership, or working towards
  • Previous experience working as an Accountant with preferable knowledge of XERO and JDE or similar accounting software
