The Account Manager, Personal & Home Care (PHC) is a customer-oriented position, and responsibilities include understanding the Personal & Home Care market and identifying opportunities for profitable growth.
Working as part of a sales team on a day-to-day basis, this individual will identify target customers, develop a sales pipeline, prepare for sales calls, conducting successful sales calls, preparing proposals, completing follow up and closing sales. The Account Manager manages a segmentation of accounts with good growth and potential and is responsible for meeting the needs of these important accounts on multiple levels. They will orchestrate resources throughout the organisation in a collaborative manner to service these customers with value added solutions. These customers are critical for the achievement of Caldic's long-term sustainable growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Win new business and extend existing sales and business with existing and new customers for PHC.
- Develop sales plans that will have a substantial impact on the achievement of country results.
- Work closely with the Regional Head of Personal & Home Care to drive sales growth, gross margin, pipeline, and other business goals.
- Work with team to identify target customers, develop a pipeline, prepare for sales calls, conduct successful sales calls, prepare proposals, complete follow up and close the sale.
- Foster and develop ongoing, long term customer relationships.
- Meet or exceed sales growth, profitability, pipeline and other business goals. Manage sales forecasting and debtor days / days sales outstanding. Achieve sales and working capital goals and other KPIs.
- Keep abreast of Caldic wide strategy, initiatives and programs across all functions and develop local applications.
- Know customer business including strategy, size, products, key decision makers, organization, new initiatives, pain points, etc.
- Develop by leveraging on appropriate Caldic resources and working collaboratively, mid to long terms Account Plans. Grow sales in various business segments of the customer.
- Take ownership and accountability for implementing Account Business Plans. Leverage internal system for information related to call planning, customer identification and contacts management, account strategy and planning and following up on customer needs.
- Master the CRM platform and drive customer relationship management activities, using the CRM system to capture prospects, accounts, contacts, contact activities, tasks, opportunities, sales and all other selling activities. Ensure it is fully and always up-to-date.
- Drive and develop solid relationships with the customer and actively drive our internal stakeholder relationship with customers at all levels (top-to-top engagement).
- Drive customer solution activities such as opportunity management, Customer/Innovation product demonstration, joint sales calls and sample management.
- Establish and maintain customer intelligence, proactively keep abreast of customer's organization updates and changes and leading customer strategies. Keep abreast of market, industry and competitor intelligence and trends.

Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in science/chemistry/chemicals or related qualification.
- Experience: Experience working in, coupled with a passion for, the personal and home care industry, preferably within the chemical distribution industry.
- Sales Drive: Solid commercial and financial acumen in a "hunter" business to business sales role. Commercial know-how in pipeline development, pricing (top and bottom line).
- Able to motivate, set priorities and objectives to achieve sales/business results.
- Strong ability to establish mid to long term plans and work with customers to understand their needs and address them with creative solutions.
- Relationship Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with customers and build long-term partnerships. Well-developed negotiation skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to effectively support product promotion, technical inquiries, and customer training and help customers find the solution they need to be successful.
- Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze market and customer data to inform strategy.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed to meet with customers.
- Tool: Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software to manage, monitor and track business.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure safety of team and compliance with safety and product related policies and procedures.
