Are you a payroll pro who thrives in a standalone role, loves streamlining systems, and isn't afraid to take the lead when it comes to training and improving processes?

Queensland Ballet is on the lookout for a Payroll Specialist who's ready to take ownership, work collaboratively with finance and HR, and help shape the future of our payroll function.

About the Role

In this standalone position, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations—ensuring compliance, efficiency, and accuracy every step of the way. You'll also play a vital role in identifying process improvements and delivering training to internal teams to support smooth payroll operations.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Running accurate and timely payroll in line with awards, EBAs, and salaried frameworks
  • Leveraging your experience to drive process improvements and increase payroll efficiency
  • Using Employment Hero (experience here is highly attractive)
  • Acting as the go-to person for payroll-related queries and training
  • Delivering internal training on timesheet completion, approvals, and payroll compliance
  • Collaborating with Finance and HR on integrated systems and processes
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a payroll role (standalone experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of awards, EBAs, and salaried payroll frameworks
  • A keen eye for inefficiencies and the drive to make things better
  • Confidence in leading training sessions and engaging with staff across levels
  • Bonus points if you have a finance or HR background
