Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Coronado Global Resources Inc. Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

CORONADO GLOBAL RESOURCES is a leading international producer of high-quality Metallurgical Coal. Our global operations are located in two of the world's largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins, the Bowen Basin in Queensland and the Central Appalachian region of the US.

About the Role

We are now seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Reporting Specialist to join our People & Culture team, based in our Brisbane Corporate Office. Reporting to the Remuneration and HR Systems Lead, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and compliant payroll and HR reporting across our Australian operations.

Your role will be rewarding and varied, where you will:

  • Process end-to-end payroll for weekly wages and monthly staff employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Prepare termination, redundancy, and bonus payments in line with enterprise agreements, awards, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, system updates, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain payroll master data, support position management, and conduct payroll system testing and validation.
  • Lead internal and external reporting, including Payroll Tax, Single Touch Payroll, Coal LSL, Superannuation, and WorkCover.
  • Analyse and interpret payroll data to identify trends and provide insights to management.
  • Develop, streamline, and automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support business leaders and employees with SAP Manager and Employee Self-Service.
  • Assist with HR data analytics, salary reviews, job evaluations, and other general HR activities.

About You

You will have:

  • Extensive experience managing complex payrolls in SAP or a large-scale ERP environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and industrial instruments.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • A solutions-driven approach with a focus on automation, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
  • Mining or heavy industry experience is desirable but not essential.

If you are a systems-savvy payroll professional who enjoys problem solving and driving efficiency, this is an opportunity to contribute to a high-performing HR function within a global resources organisation.
