The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Leader Technical Services, this role provides essential administrative and operational support to Council's Operations team.  The role is responsible for preparing and reviewing purchase orders, monitoring procurement activities, assisting with tenders and quotations, and ensuring efficient purchasing and contract processes across Council projects.  You will also maintain accurate data and records, helping the organisation achieve the best possible outcomes for goods and services procurement.

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III or IV in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or an equivalent qualification, or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in purchasing or contract administration. You will also bring a solid understanding of computerised purchasing, creditors, and contract management systems, and a working knowledge of tendering and procurement processes.

To succeed in the role, you will need strong project planning and organisational skills, along with the ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will liaise with staff across Council and external stakeholders.  You will also be a team player who can contribute positively to group outcomes, with proficiency in computer use, data entry, and a commitment to providing high quality customer service.

Annual salary of $70,451 to $80,278 (plus super).
