We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Research Ethics and Integrity Officer to support the University's commitment to excellence in research governance. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Deputy Provost Research and the Chair of the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) to coordinate research ethics and integrity initiatives across the University.

Key responsibilities of this varied role include:

  • Coordinate and manage the full lifecycle of human research ethics applications, including submissions, approvals, amendments, and final reporting.
  • Provide expert advice and administrative support to academic staff and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students throughout the ethics application process.
  • Monitor compliance with approved ethics protocols and institutional research integrity frameworks, conducting regular audits and compliance checks.
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external reports to meet University obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the administration and coordination of reported research integrity matters, including logging, tracking, organising documentation, and supporting inquiries or investigations.
  • Provide secretariat support to University committees, including the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC).
About the person

Ideally you will be a highly skilled administrator who can manage multiple priorities within a collaborative, fast paced and growing environment. You will also be interested in continuous improvement and cross-training within the Office of Research Services.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in a relevant area or demonstrated equivalent combination of relevant experience in a complex organisation and education/training.
  • Have experience, or training in, research ethics, research integrity and governance processes
  • Be able to demonstrate secretariat skills and experience, including timely, efficient and effective minute-taking and record-keeping.
  • Have a proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment with a focus on mutual support and demonstrated flexibility to adapt to teams' needs and organisational priorities.
  • Have experience in developing and delivering training.
  • Have strong computing skills including database management, developing and updating web sites and other forms of electronic communication.
  • Demonstrate integrity with respect to confidentiality and ability to multitask and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
  • Have the ability to build and maintain effective and high-value relationships.
Salary details

The salary for the position commences at $96,222.23 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
