About the Role

The Corporate Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, commercial arrangements, and M&A initiatives that expand our value chain and enhance revenue potential. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you'll shape investment decisions by developing robust business cases and financial models aligned with our strategic priorities. You'll drive forward key initiatives by coordinating cross-functional teams and applying structured project management. FleetPartners and MMAL - Accelerating our Mobility Transformation

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has recently increased its equity stake in FleetPartners, a leading automotive financial services company based in Australia and New Zealand, from the 5.01% acquired in June 2024, up to 19.93% in September 2025.

FleetPartners is a major provider of vehicle leasing, fleet management, and novated leasing options to both businesses and individuals. They support clients through vehicle acquisition, in-life fleet services, and remarketing. MMC's investment in this acquisition is an important step in strengthening Mitsubishi Motors' value chain and will drive further growth for MMAL and its business operations.

The Corporate Business Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the partnership between MMAL and FleetPartners, exploring further investment opportunities that deliver benefits to both companies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across the automotive value chain, including mobility services, connected technologies, aftermarket offerings, fleet management, and finance solutions
  • Develop strategic business cases supported by financial modelling and evidence-based analysis to guide investment decisions and growth initiatives
  • Drive corporate development and M&A activities, including target identification, due diligence, valuation analysis, and preparation of proposals for senior stakeholders
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of M&A transactions and strategic initiatives, including post-merger integration
  • Deliver strategic projects by defining scope, managing timelines and resources, and maintaining stakeholder alignment through clear communication and proactive risk management

Essential skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or an alternate relevant discipline, or equivalent skills, knowledge & experience
  • Previous experience in corporate finance, M&A, investment banking or transaction advisory
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with demonstrated ability to build business cases and assess investment opportunities
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including experience in managing complex transactions and developing sound project plans
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with previous experience in presenting recommendations and advice
  • Postgraduate qualifications including MBA, CA, CPA or CFA are not essential, but highly regarded
