Your opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced IR Manager, QLD WA SA and NT, to join the business to support the company's operational IR strategy. Reporting to the Group Manager, IR this position provides expertise in IR Management to business stakeholders, projects and work winning teams.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide advice on the management of IR issues on site in line with workplace agreement / modern awards, legislation and Company Policies .
- Be the functional SME to support work winning (project tenders and related material)
- Create, support and implement Project Industrial Relations Management Plan(s) and IR solutions that comply with Project objectives and CPB Contractors corporate policy.
- Be the Project liaison for Right of Entry and other IR matters.
- Provide advice on conditions of employment and Enterprise Agreement terms and conditions during the tender process, project start up, delivery and demobilisation.
- Monitor Project specific Project Awards / Agreements / EBA in accordance with CPB policy
- Support negotiations for the renewal of Enterprise Agreements in accordance with CPB Contractors IR strategy
- Liaise with employer associations to remain informed about developments in the industry and contribute CPB perspective on industry-wide matters under consideration by the employer associations.
- Report and take appropriate action on any potential disputation that may cause serious financial harm or operational disruption to projects.
- Maintain open lines of communication with all senior union officials that represent employees engaged on CPB Contractors projects.
- Investigate and support complaint management process to resolve issues and maintain appropriate records.
Minimum requirements for this role include the following:
Degree qualified in Business, Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in human resources and industrial relations and / or employee relations. Experience in building and construction ER and IR is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating solutions for industrial relations issues
- Demonstrated IR experience in Fair Work Commission and unionised industry e.g., right of entry to site and conciliations/conferences.
- Familiarity with State and Federal IR laws and tribunals and Codes of Practice
- Strong communication, negotiating and influencing skills
