We're seeking two motivated professionals to join our Water Infrastructure Services Branch based at our Principal Depot in Charlton:

• Plumber
• Team Leader – Water Reactive

About the Roles

Plumber

You'll work hands-on in water and sewer maintenance across our region, performing plumbing tasks with the assistance of a labourer, maintaining safety at worksites, and contributing to critical infrastructure repairs.

Team Leader – Water Reactive

You'll work hands-on maintaining safety at worksites and Council's water network and sewer infrastructure across our region with the assistance of a labourer

What You'll Do – Shared Responsibilities:

• Maintain safety on-site before, during, and after works
• Participate in the after-hours/on-call roster
• Fit-testing for tight-fitting respirators (required within 6 months)
• Communicate effectively with team members and the community
• Provide excellent customer service
• Work on critical municipal water and sewer infrastructure across Toowoomba, Crows Nest, Oakey, and Millmerran

Key Differences in Qualifications

Plumber – Essential Qualifications:

• Current Queensland Plumber's Licence
• 'MR' Class Driver's Licence (or willing to obtain in 3 months)
• White Card – CPCWHS1001
• Desirable: High Risk Dogger Licence, Traffic Management Implementation (TMI), Safe Work Near Exposed Live Parts (SWNLEP), Confined Space, Working at Heights, Quick Cut Saw operation

Team Leader – Water Reactive – Essential Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations
• 'MR' Class Driver's Licence (or willing to obtain in 6 months)
• White Card – CPCWHS1001
• Desirable: Front-End Loader Backhoe, High Risk Dogger Licence, Traffic Management Implementation (TMI), Safe Work Near Exposed Live Parts (SWNLEP), Confined Space, Working at Heights, Quick Cut Saw operation

Pay & Benefits

Both positions are permanent full-time, working 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with a 38-hour work week and a 9-day fortnight.

Plumber

• $1,611.44 gross/week (includes critical trade allowance)
• Overtime, on-call, construction and live sewer allowances available

Team Leader – Water Reactive

• $1,298.72 gross/week (includes critical trade allowance) Does this position get Critical Trade Allowance?
• Overtime, on-call, and other allowances apply

About the Water Infrastructure Services Branch

Our team manages critical water supply and wastewater collection pipelines to maintain public health, environmental safety, and sustainability. You'll be part of a team delivering:

• Reactive and programmed water/sewer works
• Maintenance plumbing and network upgrades We do not do Private Plumbing.
• Bulk water mains projects
