Group Finance Controller

Tourism Australia is seeking an exceptional Group Financial Controller to drive financial leadership, governance, and performance across our global operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Corporate Services, the Group Finance Controller will oversee all financial and internal control matters across Tourism Australia. This includes financial reporting, strategic planning, corporate governance and risk management, ensuring the highest level of service and accountability to internal and external stakeholders.
You will play a critical role in shaping Tourism Australia's financial direction by:
- Leading the Finance function across Australia and our global offices
- Driving strategic financial planning, reporting, and analytics to inform business decisions
- Strengthening corporate governance, internal controls, and compliance
- Partnering with senior leaders to provide commercial insights
- Managing financial operations including accounting and taxation
- Leading and developing a high-performing, cross-cultural finance team
- Representing Tourism Australia at Audit & Finance Committee meetings
About You
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on finance leader with:
- CA/CPA membership and tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
- Demonstrated success managing finance functions in complex, multinational organisations
- Experience leading high-performing teams across cultures and geographies
- Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, taxation and compliance
- Proven ability to partner with executives and provide strategic, commercial advice
- Knowledge of MS Dynamics 365 and Power BI will be highly regarded
- Commonwealth Government reporting experience (desired, but not essential)
