The opportunity

If you are an experienced administrator and seeking to join a welcoming and flexible environment, our Local Administration Team could be for you. The opportunity of working with FPA will provide you with exposure to a wide range of tasks, such as filing patent and design applications in Australia and New Zealand, monitoring cases, ensuring our case management system is updated and accurate, reporting to clients, and invoicing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting correspondence and generating other documents within agreed timelines in relation to patents and designs.
  • Accurately entering data into databases, updating the database as appropriate and ensuring critical deadlines are met.
  • Administrative and clerical functions necessary to facilitate the Local or Foreign filings processes.
  • Liaising with patent attorneys, foreign associates/agents and the offices of IPA and IPONZ.
  • Gathering, interpreting and analysing information to respond to inquiries and requests received from clients, associates and fee earners.
  • Ensuring case deadlines are met and reminders are actioned.
  • Attending to all billing functions associated with work undertaken.

Skills & Attributes:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a corporate environment, preferably within a professional services firm
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and communication skills
