Salary range: $62,713 per annum (pro rata, $31.73 per hour % superannuation.

About the role

As a Travel Advisor at the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre (TTIC), you'll be part of a dynamic team that helps visitors explore the best of Tasmania. This customer-facing role is all about delivering exceptional service, promoting local tourism experience, and supporting the City's goal of increasing visitor yield and dispersal. 

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Provide tailored travel advice and booking services across in-person and online channels.
  • Promote and sell Tasmanian tourism experiences and retail products to visitors.
  • Process reservations and financial transactions with accuracy and professionalism. 
  • Collaborate with team members to meet sales targets and deliver a high-quality visitor experience. 
  • Maintain a polished and welcoming presence that reflects TTIC's customer service standards.

About you

You're a friendly, proactive communicator with a passion for helping people explore Tasmania. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working as part of a team, and bring a strong customer service mindset to everything you do. Whether it's recommending hidden gems or handling bookings with precision, you're confident, capable, and committed to delivering a memorable visitor experience.

You'll bring:

  • A Certificate III qualification (or equivalent experience) in tourism, customer service or a related field. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn reservation systems.
  • Attention to detail and confidence in handling cash and card transactions.
  • A current Working with Vulnerable People Card (Employee)
