Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating the music team at worship and other events
  • Selecting songs that align with the message and worship themes. This will require collaboration with the Minister and others responsible for the message and other aspects of worship.
  • Contributing to leading worship. This may include introducing songs and leading prayer

This role will take responsibility for the following areas:

  • Leading regular rehearsals for musicians and vocalists
  • Recruiting and supporting volunteer musicians and vocalists
  • Overseeing a roster of musicians and vocalists
  • Ensuring that there is a repertoire of songs appropriate for the Congregation and the themes in worship
  • Ensuring that the audiovisual team is properly informed about the music and any technical requirements.

In addition to those outlined above, specific responsibilities also include:

  • Reading and understanding the Basis of Union, and having a preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia
  • Abiding by the policies and procedures of the Uniting Church in Australia Synod of NSW and the ACT
  • Having a genuine willingness to embrace challenges as they arise and to work flexibly in support of the overall key objectives of the Uniting Church in Australia
  • A willingness to work a flexible schedule when required
  • Following policy and procedures in relation to workplace health and safety
  • Participating in maintaining a safe working environment for both you and others in the workplace
  • Undertaking additional duties as directed
