Music Programming Coordinator Role

The Music Programming Coordinator role entails collaboration with the Music Programming team to create high-quality radio programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving daily assignments from senior music programming professionals and program directors.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of music scheduling software and automation systems.
  • Editing audio materials and operating audio boards.
  • Loading audio elements into music automation systems and entering song information for royalty purposes.
  • Pulling listener requests and calls from electronic webmail systems.
  • Ensuring on-air hosts receive daily music logs and updated talent schedules generated from music scheduling software.
  • Monitoring specialty programming for content and technical quality control.
  • Serving as an in-studio producer, ensuring smooth live broadcasts by maintaining proper audio levels and troubleshooting technical issues under pressure.

This position requires a strong interest in learning all aspects of music programming, a desire to grow into a program director position, and good public speaking and presentation skills. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be detail-oriented, and exhibit strong organizational abilities.
