Job Description

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our Finance team and provide high-quality project support to Project Managers and operational teams. This role plays a key part in enabling effective project management, accurate financial tracking, and strong governance across the project lifecycle.

This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

What you'll do:

  • Set up and maintain projects, including billing, invoicing, forecasting and reporting
  • Lead the billing process and ensure accurate revenue recognition
  • Provide working capital insights and support collections
  • Partner with Project Managers and Finance Leaders to deliver financial advice and governance
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and contractual requirements
Qualifications
  • An Accounting / Finance qualification or background 
  • Strong analytical and accounting/financial skills including compliance, reporting and legal issues (Engineering environment considered advantageous)
  • Demonstrated experience in project accounting, receivables and cash management
  • Advanced experience in and use of accounting packages and MS Office (particularly Excel) software
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (with exceptional attention to detail)
