Freight Coordinator

Full-Time | Rotating Roster | Monday to Sunday | Start times between 4:30 AM – 1:30 AM

Are you ready to launch your aviation logistics career or take the next step in a dynamic, high-paced environment? We're currently seeking a proactive and safety-focused Freight Coordinator to join our dedicated team at Melbourne Airport.

As a Freight Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and timely movement of cargo from the warehouse to the airline ramp – helping to keep flights on schedule and cargo moving efficiently.

• Conduct safety checks on all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) prior to use

• Accurately transmit freight manifest information in a timely manner

• Record and maintain relevant documentation

• Professionally assist clients and stakeholders

• Build collaborative relationships with internal staff and industry partners

• Complete and maintain compliance in Dangerous Goods Acceptance, Load Restraint, and Security Training

• Ensure accurate cargo dispatch aligned with Airline Systems, Freight Manifest, and Barrows Tag

• Accompany cargo with appropriate documentation, manifest, and NOTOC

• Perform additional duties as required

• Adhere to all health and safety procedures and report hazards immediately

• Ensure personal and team safety at all times

• Participate in safety improvement activities

• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 12 months in a similar aviation or logistics role

• Knowledge of aircraft load control and safety procedures

• Understanding of CASA regulatory requirements

• Competent computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Team player with the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Current Driver's License

• Valid ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)

• Forklift License (LF)

• Rotating Roster (Monday–Sunday)

• Start times range between 4:30 AM to 1:30 AM (flexibility required)

• On-site parking and uniform provided
