About the opportunity
As Australia's newest uranium producer, we're growing and looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead, develop and deliver a range of civil, processing and plant optimisation projects to support the ongoing development of our Honeymoon mine site.
The role is offered as an 18-month maximum term contract on a family friendly roster of 4:3 (Honeymoon) 5:2 (Adelaide.)
Reporting to the General Manager, Honeymoon, you'll design and execute operational and improvement projects in accordance with site standards and approved KPI's.
Through positive engagement with internal stakeholders, external design consultants and construction contractors, you'll lead your team to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
You'll proactively manage the design, execution, commissioning, handover, and ramp-up phases of the projects, and be directly accountable for managing safety, cost, schedule, quality and operational readiness of your projects.
With a collaborative and consultative approach, you'll establish rapport and build relationships easily, communicating effectively with people at all levels of our business.
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
- Manage multiple small- medium projects (up to $5M) through the design, execution, commissioning, handover and ramp-up phases.
- Ensure compliance to statutory regulations and standards, and relevant site requirements.
- Provide input into Honeymoon strategic plans, budgets and targets, ensuring compliance for projects under your control.
- Provide regular project progress reports to key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate high standards of personal operational discipline and establish routines for safe and efficient project delivery.
- Coordinate operational readiness requirements with Procurement and site Warehousing and Maintenance teams.
About You
What you'll need:
- Experience in a similar role ideally in a mining/operational environment.
- Significant experience in project management, delivering projects up to $5M in CAPEX.
- Proven experience in leading small teams.
- Experience managing external engineering design and construction contractors.
- A strong systems approach in planning/scheduling, cost control, and reporting.
- A contemporary approach to project management tools and methodologies.
- An in-depth knowledge of and practical experience in all aspects of the project management lifecycle. (PMBOK)
- A resilient approach and the ability to work in a challenging environment.
- A drive to achieve KPIs and meet committed deadlines.
- A `tertiary qualification in mining, processing, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
While not essential, the following will be highly regarded:
- A qualification in project management
- Sound knowledge of uranium mining and processing
- Experience working in the South Australian regulatory jurisdiction
