Coomera, Queensland, Australia Young Mindz PTY LTD Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

At Young Mindz, we're committed to empowering Australians with disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. As a nationwide NDIS provider, we deliver person-centred services including Supported Independent Living (SIL) and tailored disability support. Our approach is led by the heart and grounded in mindfulness, self-care, and community wellness.

We're currently seeking a compassionate and proactive SIL House Leader to oversee a female Supported Independent Living (SIL) home on the northern Gold Coast, supporting one participant. This is a permanent part-time leadership role where you'll combine hands-on support with team coordination to ensure the participant's needs are met in a safe, nurturing environment.

Due to the specific care needs of the participants, this role is only open to female candidates.

About the Participant

You'll be supporting a female participant who values calm routines, personal space, and respectful, empowering interactions. She is working toward greater independence and wellbeing, with support to manage daily living and build confidence in accessing the community.

This role involves supporting someone with complex support needs, including emotional regulation and behaviours that may escalate under stress. A trauma-informed, person-centred approach is essential, along with the ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.

Experience in mental health, complex care, or crisis response is highly regarded. You'll be part of a supportive team helping her feel safe, respected, and empowered in her home and community.

About the Role

As the SIL House Leader, you will:

  • Provide hands-on support, including personal care, meal preparation, and daily living assistance
  • Lead and mentor a small team of support workers to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
  • Coordinate household operations, including appointments, supplies, and compliance requirements
  • Support the development of independent living skills and community participation
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure NDIS standards are met

The Roster: Flexible Options to suit your lifestyle

This role offers a consistent fortnightly roster with a variety of shifts available, including:

  • 6am to 2pm
  • 2pm to 10pm
  • 10pm to 6am (inactive overnight)

We aim to provide flexibility while maintaining stability for our team and participants.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in SIL or disability support, with leadership or supervisory experience highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of complex behaviours and trauma-informed care
  • Ability to manage rosters, household budgets, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life

Required Certifications

  • NDIS Screening/Yellow Card
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Driver's licence
  • Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance

Desirable (but not mandatory)

  • Cert IV in mental health or equivalent
  • Maybo Training – Positive Behaviour Support or similar

Key Attributes

  • Organised and proactive, with strong time management skills
  • Confident in leading and motivating a team
  • Calm under pressure, with emotional resilience and empathy
  • Comfortable using technology for rostering and reporting

Why Join Us?

At Young Mindz, we value empathy, respect, and collaboration. You'll be part of a supportive, empowering team dedicated to enhancing participants' well-being and fostering their independence.

We're also committed to your growth and development, offering ongoing training opportunities, including Positive Behaviour Support, trauma-informed care, and other professional development programs to help you thrive in your role.

Ready to make a difference? Apply today and help create a home where independence and joy thrive.
