Are you an experienced Payroll Officer who has experience conducting end-to-end payroll functions, interpreting relevant legislation, ensuring compliance, and providing employee-focused support?

The Role:

Menzies is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Professional Services team. You will be responsible for employee-focused payroll service, including maintenance of all staff pay records and files, provision of documentation, and general advice to staff on matters such as the Menzies Enterprise Agreement and leave entitlements.

Some additional duties for appointment to higher level PAT 6:

  • Conceptualise and lead major change initiatives, including supporting the transition project work to a new HRIS.
  • Identify ways to improve current payroll systems and processes, which will provide benefits to services and the organisation.
  • Coach, support and influence supervisors and managers in relation to payroll practices.

About you:

As a motivated Payroll Officer with experience conducting an end-to-end payroll function, you will already have the following:

  • Substantial experience in a payroll environment, conducting a full electronic payrun with an automated payroll and human resource system.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete payroll reconciliations and payroll related regulatory returns accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team managing competing priorities often within short timelines.

Some additional criteria for appointment to higher level PAT 6:

  • Tertiary qualification, with subsequent relevant payroll experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Experience in coaching, training, and influencing others in payroll practices.

The Benefits:

  • Base Salary $81,837 - $97,646 per annum (Total remuneration package including superannuation $103,410 - $121,509 per annum).
  • Generous leave provisions including 6 weeks annual leave.
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum and $2,650 meal and entertainment card tax free.
  • Option to increase Super to 14%.
