Receptionist – Yorkeys Knob Boating Club
Yorkeys Knob Boating Club is a premier boating, dining, and entertainment venue located just 15 minutes north of Cairns. With our relaxed waterfront atmosphere, and commitment to exceptional service, we are proud to be a place where locals, members, and visitors feel welcome.
We are seeking a professional, organised, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our front-of-house and administration team. This is a key role as the Receptionist is the first point of contact for all members, guests, and visitors to the Club.
About the Role
The Receptionist will:
- Provide a warm and professional welcome to all members, guests, and visitors.
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and general enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist members with new applications, renewals, payments, and general membership services.
- Support marina operations by handling berth enquiries, bookings, and liaising with the marina administrator.
- Coordinate Club service bookings (restaurant, events, functions, and facility hire, courtesy bus).
- Perform daily administrative tasks including data entry, filing, correspondence, and POS transactions.
- Maintain accurate records and databases in line with Club procedures.
- Provide support to management and other departments when required.
- Ensure the reception area and front desk are always presented to a professional standard.
Key Skills & Attributes
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in reception, customer service, or administration (hospitality or membership-based organisations highly regarded).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to build rapport.
- A professional phone manner and confidence in handling enquiries.
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with reservation or membership systems advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- A well-presented, professional appearance and friendly, welcoming attitude.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as part of the roster.
- Ability to start immediately
